Today Anh presents her 4th speech from the CTM manual. The objective of the speech is ‘How to say it’.
Anh had chances to work with the 6th grade Math over and over again 4 times. First she took 6th grade Math in her native language when she was 11 years old. Anh was a little bit struggling with 6th grade Math word problems while tutoring her 1st child in the United States. Then Anh got used to 6th grade Math word problems while tutoring her 2nd child. Recently, Anh actually enjoys all the 6th grade Math word problems while tutoring her youngest child.
Anh now can explain easily to her kids where Pi comes from or why the product of two numbers can be a much smaller number.
Anh concluded that it is always a good idea to take a refresher course about any subject when you have a chance.

4/23 Best Evaluator: Janet H.
Once again Janet gave great recommendations for Anh's speech. She would like to see a catchier introduction likes "Are you smarter than a 6th Grader? Can you tell me where Pi comes from?"

4/23 Best TableTopic Answer: Rhonda L.
Rhonda L. gave her opinions about character license advertising for example Hannah Montana Products.
You should be the role model for your children about choosing which products.

Jean D. shared her reaction when she listened to radio advertising.

Janet H. gave her opinions about internet and billboard advertising.

Arndt P. mentioned ALDI advertising:
ALDI has about 900 stores in 27 US states, but Germany (where ALDI has a 40% share of the grocery market) accounts for about two-thirds of sales. Brothers and co-founders Theo and Karl Albrecht own the company.

The word of the day
bricolage \bree-koh-LAHZH; brih-\, noun:
Construction or something constructed by using whatever materials happen to be available.
The Internet is a global bricolage, lashing together unthinkable complexities of miscellaneous computers with temporary lengths of phone line and fiber optic, bits of Ethernet cable and strings of code.
